Happy Blogoversary to Me!

Well, it's official. I have been a blogger for a year now. And what a year it's been.

But sadly, the ole blog doesn't care. Did I get flowers? Did I get candy? A card? Anything? Nope. Obviously we are in an unhealthy relationship. But I can't help myself; I keep coming back for more.

And the reason I'm back tonight is because I need the help of all you mom readers out there.

As you know I could have this baby any day now and while I'm prepared for the most part (bags packed, nursery done, etc.) I do have a couple of questions.

1. What did you listen to in the delivery room? Everything I've read has suggested taking music, but I can't think of what would be appropriate. I am NOT a new-agey Enya/Yanni/wind whistling through the trees music lover. In fact, my music tastes lean more towards Madonna, the Counting Crows and Broadway musicals. None of which seem all that soothing or delivery room appropriate. Especially since my fave Broadway musical, Rent, throws the F word around like crazy. Maybe that's not the 1st thing I want Little Ricky hearing.

I am taking my Ipod which has my whole music library on it, but I still don't know what I want to listen to.

So if I want music as a distraction, what should it be? On the other hand will I just find it annoying and want it to SHUT. THE. HELL. UP?!?

So blog friends, suggestions?

2. And now for the big question--FASHION. I have 2 going home outfits packed for me. One super comfy (workout pants, hoody, tennis shoes) and one a little cuter, but still comfy (maxi dress, sandals). The thing is in my head I know I will want to be comfy. After all I will have just squeezed a bowling ball through a straw.

But in my fashion loving heart I keep seeing Sarah Jessica Parker the day she and Matthew Broderick brought their son home from the hospital. Remember that? She was dressed to the nines--fabulous dress, full hair and make-up, HEELS! She was probably terribly uncomfortable and doing the best acting of her life that day as she smiled for the cameras and prayed for sweats, but she looked damn good!

I know I will end up in one of my comfy outfits, but there is a part of me that wants to come sailing out of the hospital dressed to kill. But really? How realistic is this? And what's the point? It's not like I will have paparazzi waiting for me (other than my mom and dad!)

So ladies, what did you wear home from the hospital? Were you comfy? Cute? Both?

Share, but make it snappy because I think this little guy could come sooner rather than later! :)

Congratulations on the blogaversary!

Sarah Jessica Parker has all kinds of stylists and personal assistants, she looks that way because she has lots of hired help.

Be comfy.

Also, since you have the ipod, you've got all of your favorite music. You may want to do a couple of special playlists, a more relaxing one maybe.

As for music...I went between Josh Groban and Social Distortion...depended on the mood!! And I wore a very cute, but super comfy jogging suit home!

1) Who had time for music?!?! My contractions started 1 minute long and 1 minute apart after being induced so I had NO time for music!

2) I have NO clue what I wore but I so totally spent hours on Dillons outfit. I had two, a regular newborn one and a larger one. She was 9 lbs 7 oz. so she never fit into the newborn one. :-(
