I'm usually not a parade person. I'm not a fan of crowds and I always think "if you can watch it on TV, why get out in the middle of all that nonsense?" (Yes, I realize that I sound like a grumpy old woman.)
(Now get off my lawn.)
So we had never been to the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Parade. And I honestly didn't feel like we were missing anything.
But apparently having Little Ricky has thawed my cold, cold heart, because last weekend we headed out with some friends into the cold, cold weather to watch the parade live and in person.
It. was. AWESOME! From the very first float with Mickey and Minnie Mouse to the fireworks at the end, Little Ricky was mesmerized! He giggled, he clapped, he bounced up and down on his daddy's shoulders (Daddy needs a massage after that!), he danced to the music of the marching bands, he oohed and aaaahhhed. He LOVED it.
We will definitely make this a yearly tradition.
(But seriously, get off my lawn.)
